Download GA Data Grabber for Excel 2003

The downloadable file is an Excel document that does not require installation. Simply open it in Excel. However, you may need to change Excel's settings to allow macro execution, instructions for this can be found from the notes below.

Notes regarding the tool:
  • Without a license, the tool works for a trial period of 7 days. If you need more time to properly evaluate the tool, email us at info@automateanalytics.com and we will extend it for you (in the email, mention the username you're logging into the tool with)
  • To get the most out of the tool, we recommend that you use it in Windows Excel 2007 or newer. GA Data Grabber also works in Windows Excel 2003 and in Mac OS X Excel 2011. When using on Mac, the tool may be less stable than in Windows, due to the instability of Mac Excel. Fetching data is also slower on a Mac. Upgrading to Mac Office 2011 SP1 is recommended. In Windows Excel 2003, some the visualization options are not available.
  • Macros need to be enabled in Excel's settings for the tool to function:
    • In Windows Excel 2007 and later, when opening the file, check if you see a warning such as this:

If so, click the "Options" button, and select either of the two lower options from the dialog that pops up:

You can also enable macros by going to Excel Options: Trust Center: Trust Center Settings: Macro Settings. Then select the last or the second last option, and restart Excel. When reopening GA Data Grabber, accept certificate by MT Analytics if prompted. Screenshots below, click to enlarge:

    • In Excel 2003, go to Tools: Macros: Security. You should select a setting the allows the execution of digitally signed macros. You don't need to enable all macros. After turning macros on, you need to restart Excel. If prompted for it, you should accept the digital certificate by MT Analytics.
    • In Mac Excel 2011, just click "Enable macros" when opening the file.
  • Network proxy or firewall settings may prevent the tool from fetching data. You can set the tool to work with your proxy server when logging in.
